A project influenced by Jazz and Mid-Century design.
I created a series of illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. I paid special attention to groups and paths knowing I will eventually be animating these elements in Adobe After Effects. Once I was happy with the order and look of all the illustrations I brought them into After Effects and organized the layers. I animated the elements keeping in mind the Jazz core of the inspiration.
I really love midcentury art and have quite a bit of experience illustrating in this style. So, I kept this loose and just drew what I was feeling.
I wanted all the frames to feel connected. I tried limiting the palette and shapes.
Grouping shapes and making sure there were enough anchor points for any path animations I waned to do in After Effects.
I wanted there to be some rhythm and bounce, jazzy movement.
